Episode #1 Brandon Puffer on MLB Baseball, Prison, Recovery and Redemption

Hello and welcome to our first episode!  We're doing it big with Brandon Puffer or "Coach Puff Positive" as he's affectionately known.  His book came out in December and boy has he got a story to share with us.  It's called From the Bullpen to the State Pen: On Choices, a Crash, and the Remarkable Freedom of Grace.  Notably, Brandon was major league baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox and the San Francisco Giants.  He earned the coveted World Series ring and all the spoils that come with that kind of life after paying his dues in Minor Leagues for years.  He had long wrestled with demons of addiction and other issues that led to a series of decisions that resulted in a prison stint of 3.5 years and some lessons that changed him forever.  We will talk about this wild ride and what he learned and how he’s using it now to serve and encourage others.

Please support Brandon and his mission by picking up a copy of his book @ https://www.amazon.com/Bullpen-State-Pen-Choices-Remarkable/dp/B0BPB91J2P or wherever you get your books.  Thanks so much!

This was a stellar inaugural episode. Unlike some podcasts I’ve listened to, and enjoyed, this one did not need any time to find its feet. Amanda Patton’s ability to lead the conversation without overshadowing her guest was relent excellent and her love for and investment in the subject matter is clear. Brandon Puffer was an excellent guest for similar reasons in that his openness, thoughtfulness and passion for spiritual, physical, and mental health are clear. This hour has so much great stuff in it but never felt long. Kudos all around.
